Warehouse Terms and Conditions

For the purpose of reference to these terms, conditions and tariff, Cypress Transport Warehouse and Distribution Centre will hereinafter be referred to as CTWDC.

  1. All business and any services conducted will be undertaken in accordance with our Standard Trading Terms and Conditions. Copy available upon request.
  2. Any service provided that is not defined in the tariff, will be charged at a rate agreed between CTWDC and the client.
  3. A "day" commences at midnight and ends the following midnight. Part periods are calculated as a complete day.
  4. A "freight ton" shall mean 1000 kilograms or 1 cubic metre, whichever is greater.
  5. All charges where applicable are based upon a minimum of one (1) freight ton unless otherwise specified.
  6. A "consignment" shall mean cargo detailed as per each Bill Of Lading per client.
  7. All work shall be performed during normal working hours. Normal working hours of CTWDC shall be excluding public holidays, between the hours of  Monday to Friday, 08h00 to 16h30. If overtime is worked at the request of the client, such overtime shall be for the account of the client.
  8. Payment of all service rendered will be COD, unless a credit application has been approved by CTWDC management, in which case payment must be in accordance with the terms thereof.
  9. Lien on cargo and/or containers: Refer to Standard Trading Conditions.
  10. All cargo is stored at owner's risk and account. Insurance may be arranged if requested in writing prior to acceptance thereof into CTWDC's facility.
  11. Hazardous cargo - CTWDC requires pre-advice prior to receiving hazardous/noxious cargo - this advice being contained in the Container Manifest. The warehouse will not be bound to accept such cargo, which constitutes a hazard.
  12. Single items exceeding 4000kg constitute a heavy lift and attract a 30% handling surcharge.
